932 Bearing Bronze is a high leaded tin bronze and is considered the workhorse of the bearing bronze alloys. 932 Bearing Bronze has excellent machining properties and strength and wear resistance with excellent antifriction qualities. This alloy is not subject to dezincification and has reasonable corrosion resistance to seawater and brine, making it suitable for pump and valve components. It is also used for general utility applications under medium loads and speeds, i.e., those conditions that constitute the bulk of bearing uses. 932 Bearing Bronze excels in its antifriction and machining properties. It has an electrical conductivity rating of 12% of copper. It is available in rounds to a maximum of 105".

932 Bearing Bronze conforms to ASTM B505, ASTM B271, SAE J461, SAE J462.


General Information about 932 Bearing Bronze:


932 Bearing Bronze has a wide range of applications, including bushings, machine tool bearings, pump fixtures, pump impellers, fuel pump bushings, diesel engine wrist pins, thrust washers, insert bearings, machine parts, gears, valves and valve components, etc.


932 Bearing Bronze has a machinability rating of 70% as compared to 360 Brass. Welding of this alloy is not recommended. Soldering and brazing properties are low to fair. Since brazing is performed at temperatures within the hot-short range, stress must be avoided during the brazing and cooling of this alloy.

HEAT TREATING - Forging, Normalizing, and Annealing:

932 Bearing Bronze can be stress relieved at 500°F.
932 Bearing Bronze will not respond to heat treatments.
